Yards Brewing Company suggests you pair their Brawler Ale with slow-cooked BBQ or spicy dish. We think it pairs amazingly with our tenderloin sandwich.
An approachable ales, Brawler is malt forward and delicately hopped for a knockout flavor. Its smooth character, hints of caramel and toast, and remarkable drinkability define this ruby colored brew as a true session ale.
According to Yards, it’s the perfect beverage for when you want to go more than a few rounds.
The Philadelphia-based brewery roots their craft beers in British-inspired ales. While it might make for a nice story had they come from a long line of brewers, the truth is, they come from a long line of beer drinkers.
Like many college students, Yards co-founders Tom Kehoe and Jon Bovit enjoyed beer but didn’t enjoy paying for it. So they decided to take action and began brewing it themselves. As they homebrewed their way through Western Maryland College, they experimented with malt, hops, and yeast, formulating new recipes and sharing their creations with friends.
According to their website, It wasn’t long before they had more friends than beer.
We get that.
Now you can drink great craft beer and give back! With every purchase of a Flying Dog Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout, 50 cents will be donated to the Oyster Recovery Partnership, the leading nonprofit restoring oysters in the Chesapeake Bay. Purchase a bottle on a Thursday and $1 will be donated.
For 20 years, ORP has been a facilitator and implementer of all major oyster restoration activities for the Maryland and has become the leading non-profit in restoring oysters in the Bay. Their restoration efforts have planted nearly 5 billion oysters in 1,600 acres in the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. ORP also founded the Shell Recycling Alliance, which has recycled nearly 30,000 bushels of shell to provide homes to hatchery-raised oysters.
Flying Dog Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout is brewed with local Rappahannock River Oysters and is the perfect compliant to everyone’s favorite aphrodisiac — whether they are grilled, stuffed or raw.
