Private Parties

From wedding receptions and rehearsal dinners to birthday parties or more intimate gatherings, the Mt. Washington Tavern is the area’s premier location to host and celebrate events of all types and sizes.

We offer combinations of menus and rooms to suit most any occasion and our seasoned Tavern staff works with you or your party planner to create memorable events. Our experience and large volume of parties each year ensures that your gathering will go off without a hitch.

Below you will find a collection of menus and room descriptions. Feel free to inquire about items and ask questions about ideas not listed. Your party is what you make it at the Mt. Washington Tavern.

Pimlico Room

Our Pimlico Room, located just upstairs from our main bar, offers a beautiful wood dining room decorated with a horse racing motif - complete with a cozy fireplace. Our most popular choice for rehearsal dinners and birthday parties, the room comfortably seats 40-45 people for a sit down dinner or up to 60 for a buffet or cocktail party. The room can be set to include a bar with a limited selection of beers, wines and select liquors and can operate as an open (one check to be included with the food) or cash (individual checks settled at purchase) bar. Our most popular option combines the intimacy of a sit down dinner with a small cocktail party with placed appetizers before the meal. For larger parties, our adjoining upstairs rooms may be used for auxiliary eating or to free up room by setting the buffets in them.

Chesapeake Room

The Pimlico Room is connected to our Duck and Chesapeake Rooms offering a more intimate setting. This space is ideal for parties between 15 and 25. Both rooms are anchored with a cozy fireplace and can include a bar option.

Garden Room

Our Garden room – an atrium with amazing ambiance – can accommodate sit down dinners of up to 125 and cocktail parties upwards of 200. All of these numbers can be increased if you choose to include the rooftop, open air Sky Bar that is available April through September. If you prefer this room but have a smaller party, we can make arrangements to give your group an isolated but not completely private space within the structure of the Garden. The Garden Bar is also available for Happy Hours. Note: Our Garden Room requires a minimum of 85 for an evening function and 60 for an afternoon gathering.

Sky Bar

Our Sky Bar is also a perfect setting for a party of any size when the sun is shining. This outdoor rooftop bar can be set for a buffet and full menu service is also available.

Private Happy Hours

Our Raw Bar, Garden Bar and Sky Bar are all available for private Happy Hours any day of the week. Use our Buffet Menu to select a few items to be placed out for your guests or simply pick and choose appetizers and sandwiches with your bartender.
